Max’s Keftas (meat balls) with turnip and sweet potato fries

I got this recipe from a friend 12 years ago. Since then, he has become a renowned chef in the United States. His Keftas recipe has maybe changed since then, I never asked him, never felt the need actually as I think this one is already pretty darn good. Thanks Max!

MAXKEFTAServes 4 adults and 2 young children

Time: 25 minutes

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds of minced meat (lamb or you can mix lamb and 1/4pork or lamb and 1/4beef)
1  handfull of chopped parsly
1 big diced onion
4 chopped garlic cloves
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
salt and pepper to taste

METHOD

  1. Stir fry the onion and garlic
  2. In a large bowl stir spices, parsley, egg and meat mixing all the ingredient homogeneously together
  3. Add the fried onion and garlic
  4. KEFTAMake kefta balls ( not round). Set aside on a chopping board
  5. Pan fry with just a little olive oil until golden brown on all sides. Start on medium high heat to give it the crispiness and move to medium low to cook.

Serve immediatly with turnip and sweet potato fries (just as an example. as shown on picture)
